Growing up my house had all white walls. It wasn’t the hip So Cal white look, it was the default boring generic white look.

As soon as I moved out and into a place I could paint, I went bananas. Periwinkle bedroom! Jungle green living room with ice blue ceiling! Yellow kitchen! Sherbet orange bathroom!

I was thrilled with my kaleidoscope home. But over the years I grew to appreciate more subtle hues, especially elegant, understated colors. I noticed that sometimes paint colors fought with other elements of the room, especially flooring and tile. This lead me to want to learn the “why” so I could diagnose the problem and fix it.

Training under Maria Killam, renowned international color expert, I learned how to see the undertones within colors. After years in the field and working in hundreds of homes, I can immediately spot undertone conflicts and fix them so that the surfaces, furnishings and wall colors are “talking to each other.”

One of the most irritating things in life is knowing something isn’t right without knowing how to fix it. Another is wanting change but not knowing where to start. When the context of these quandaries is color, I’m your new BFF. Imagine feeling the overwhelm lifted and replaced with a plan you can’t wait to carry out- in mere hours!
